What is Secure Input?

Secure Input is a macOS feature that protects private keyboard input (e.g. password fields) from being read by other apps. When active, Capslox cannot see your keystrokes, so hotkey functions are temporarily suspended. They resume automatically when Secure Input is turned off.

Secure Input stays active?

First, make sure no app is in a password input state — sometimes a password field is active but hidden behind other windows or off-screen. If that's not the case, the most common cause is the macOS login screen not properly releasing Secure Input. Fix: Lock your screen and unlock it again.

Windows DLL error

Install the Visual C++ Redistributable from the official Microsoft website. This fixes "VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing" and "VCOMP110.dll was not found" errors.
